Level 2 Coach Certificate Course
for Generic Roller Skating

The BRSF Basic Skills programme is perfect for teaching young people to skate in schools.

Theory Element

This comprises the Sports Coach UK “Coaching Essentials” workshops
to fall in line with the new National Coaching Certificate.

It consists of five modules:

What is coaching
How to coach sports safely
How to coach sports effectively
How to coach children in Sport
How to coach people with disabilities in sport

Coaching theory is generic and
these modules are suitable for anyone
wanting to coach any sport.

The theory element takes place in Studio One at Southport YMCA
Saturday, 11th February 2006 ~ 9am - 6.30pm plus
Monday 13 February 2006 ~ 7pm - 9pm
Saturday, 18th February 2006 ~ 10am - 1pm.

The cost of the theory element alone is £120.

British Roller Sports Federation learners
who have achieved these modules in the past 3 years
can receive accreditation for prior learning.

Practical Element

This takes the form of a number of practical workshops
and includes how to teach the first four grades
of the British Roller Sports Federation Basic Skills Scheme “Skate Smart”.

It is applicable to all disciplines of skating
and both inline and quad skates.

Assessment is based upon observation teaching
a group of beginner children to skate.

The Practical element takes place at
YMCA Southport Studio One and Sports Hall.
Sunday 12th February 2006 ~ 9am- 4.30pm
Sunday 19th February 2006 ~ 9am- 4.30pm
