Practical Element
The BRSF Level 2 Coaching Course, practical element is applicable to all disciplines of roller skating and to both inline and quad skates, it takes the form of a number of practical workshops and includes how to teach the first four grades of the BRSF Basic Skills Scheme "Skate Smart".

Assessment of this element is based upon observing the candidates successfully teaching a group of non-skaters the basic elements of skating, such as: how to tie-up boots correctly, how to stand-up, move forward, how to turn and so on, through to becoming modestly comfortable and becoming modestly competent and safe when wearing roller boots.

The BRSF Level 2 Coaching Qualification is appropriate for teaching young people to skate in schools and leisure centres and is becoming the standard qualification required by an increasing number of local authority education departments and local authority Leisure Services Departments across the UK.
