Level 2 Generic Roller Skating Coach Education Course. That course having been
arranged by the Tottenham Hotspur Football Foundation and delivered by BRSF tutors,
to sixteen coaches, working within the Tottenham area and further afield.
For readers who are interested, there is a video of available giving the

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation arranged their Level 2 Generic Roller Skating, Coach
Education Course as they are looking to launch a number of roller sport disciplines in the
local area, supported by the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club's commitment to the local
community.
The immediate intention is to re-start Roller Speed Skating, at the Frederick Knight
Sports Ground
(Willoughby Lane, London N17 0RT)
(map)
and at the nearby and recently refurbished Tatem Park facilities at Hedge Lane,
N13 5DD.

This is to resume the previous good works of Henry Crystal who delivered Roller Speed
Skating from the Community Sports Centre for 30 years up until his death four years ago.
Henry Crystal was a Trustee of both the Tottenham Community Sports Centre
and the Frederick Knight Sports Ground.
The Crystal Pavilion is named in his honour.
Thereafter it is intended to expand the commitment to roller sports in the community by
delivering other roller disciplines, for which additional & appropriate discipline
specific support will be sought.
Readers who are interested in assisting with the development of this long term project in the
Tottenham area, should place an expression of interest with the BRSF Coach Education Team using
this mailto link.
In the longer term those interested in assisting with this project will need to hold a BRSF
Level 2 Generic Roller Skating, Coach Education Award and be working towards, or already
hold, a BRSF Level 3 Award in one or more of the Roller Disciplines.
The Future
Brian Wood has agreed to hold another one day Speed Skating Officials Course later in the year
at a location north of the Watford Gap. The FISS Development Team would be pleased to hear from
any roller skating club (of any discipline) who would be able to assist with the provision of a
suitable venue for such an event.

Please feel free to bring this training day to the attention of any other people
who might not otherwise get to hear about the course.
