A party of British Artistic and Dance roller skaters are currently in Paris
representing Great Britain at the 2006 Cup of Europe.

This event is being hosted by the French Association of Roller Skating
on behalf of the European Confederation of Roller Sports.

Great Britain has the second largest team in the Cup of Europe to be held in Issy Les Moulineaux, Paris, from 2nd to 4th November in the Palais des Sports. The Zandvoorde Roller Club
~ one of the oldest speed roller skating clubs in Belgium ~
is organising the 39th Flanders Grand Prix, a three day event,
which being held at the Zandvoorde Municipal Stadium.


A number of British Roller Speed Club are sending teams to this event:
South Woodham Ferrers RSC, Team Belotti, Powerslide Racing, Team YMCA.

British Roller Speed Skaters competing in the
2006 European Senior Roller Speed Championships
24 ~ 30 July Cassano D'Adda, Italy

Three British roller speed skaters chosen to represent Great Britain at the 2006 Senior Roller Speed European Championships have arrived in Cassano D'Adda, Italy, (map). These three skaters plus one other will, later in the year, be representing Great Britain at the International Federation of Roller Sports 2006 World Speed Skating Championships, being held in Korea.

This year, for the first time the Confederation of European Roller Skating has combined the European Artistic Skating Championships, the European Rink Hockey Championships and the European Speed Skating Championships into a single festival called the EURO Roller Games 2006, being held in a number of nearby venues in Italy.

The three speed skaters are: Chris Stafford, Vincent Henry, Gavin Pollock

Twelve British Ladies and fourteen British Men are currently representing Great Britain at the International Federation of Roller Sports, 2006 Roller Inline Hockey World Championships being played out in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Also in Detroit are twelve Under 18's, taking part in the FIRS 2006 Junior Roller Inline Hockey World Cup.

Additionally fourteen Under 16's, fourteen Under 14's and fourteen Under 12's, players are taking part in the American Amateur Athletics Union, Inline Hockey "Junior Olympics" taking place in the same sports complex.

to be held at the Pipers Vale Gymnastic Centre & the Gainsborough Sports Centre
on Braziers Wood Road, Ipswich.

The aim of the camp is to provide an extended non-competitive event that will enable both skaters and coaches to learn new and to extend existing skills at selected skill levels, while providing an opportunity to develop friendships, respect and camaraderie between skaters and coaches within the artistic skating community.

Soon after my election, my staff and I focused our actions on increasing the value of our sport within the IOC parameters in order to obtain the best appreciation for our insertion in the Olympic Games.
