The Enforcers Skater Hockey Club of Tottenham, London
launches a recruitment drive for young people

click the image for a larger version Youngsters in Tottenham and surrounding areas will soon be able to try skater hockey for free – and then play for their local club – thanks to a new National Lottery-funded project.

The Enforcers Skater Hockey Club will be holding free weekly ‘come and try’ sessions for 11- 17 year olds to be held at Northumberland Park Community School, Tottenham N17, every Thursday starting on 22nd July 2010 from 6.30 – 8.00PM. The sessions are intended to attract more young people to the club (and to form a youth & junior team) – ahead of the 2011 season.

South West England

South West England Region Re-Established

The British Inline Skater Hockey South West league has reformed for the 2010 season
and for the first time league hockey will be played at the spiritual home of skater hockey in Swindon,
The Croft Sports Centre.

The inaugural season will consist of 10 senior teams competing in what is sure to be a competitive league,
as teams across the region renew their rivalry during the season.

The teams currently playing in the region are based in Gloucester & Oxford to the north, Reading to the east, Bristol to the south west, Cardiff in Wales and more locally Chippenham and four teams from Swindon.

For this season the league is delivering the sport at senior level alone but is seeking clubs and teams at other age points to expand the availability of the sport in the forthcoming season commencing March 2011.

South Yorkshire Sports Awards 2009
Held at The English Institute of Sport, Sheffield,
on Wednesday, 18 November 2009

Hallamshire Hornets, Senior Men's Inline Hockey Team
have recently been nominated along with Sheffield Hatters, a ladies basketball team, and
Sheffield Steelhawks, an Under 18's Ice Hockey team,
for the South Yorkshire Sports Awards 2009, as potential Senior Team of the Year.

At this years event Hallamshire Hornets were selected as Senior Team of the Year 2009
Dave Birch of Hallamshire Hornets said
"A major factor in us being selected for the award was that we had succeeded in a major European Championship tournament".

The South Yorkshire Sports Awards is a prestigious event held each year in South Yorkshire, involving a panel of sporting experts selecting finalists from categories of individuals and/ or clubs that have contributed to the success of all sports across the county during the previous year. The categories include, Coach of the year, Young coach of the year, Unsung Hero, and many more.

2009 European Championships - Inline Ball Hockey

Stegersbach, Austria, 11 - 13 September 2009

The British Inline Skater Hockey Association Team GB Juniors have recently returned home
with the Silver award from the iiSHF 2009 European Championships
which this year were hosted in Stegersbach, Austria.

The team also brought home the iiSHF Junior "Fair Play Cup".

click this image for a larger version The Championships games were interspersed with the Senior Ladies European Championships (report here) with Team GB first visit to the floor being the fourth game of the day. Team GB's first game was against Team Germany with the final score line after three periods being 4:1 in favour of Germany. The second game on day one was against last years champions, Switzerland with a score of 2:5 in favour of Team GB. Team GB's third game of day one was against Austria with a score line of Team GB 5, Team Austria 1 being returned.

Team GB had three games on Saturday 12 September: Great Britain 1, Germany 2; Great Britain 8, Switzerland 2 & Austria 1, Great Britain 11


The Medal games took place on Sunday 13 September with Switzerland winning Bronze from Austria 22:1 and Germany taking Gold from Great Britain by the slenderest of score lines 8:7.


Three Team GB players, Andy Baybut, Peter Cox, & Terao Hedges, are to be congratulated for the quality of their play as they were additionally selected to join the All Stars team.

The German Senior Ladies team also captured Gold from Austria Senior Ladies 7:2.
