British Roller Sports Federation
Mission Statement
Formed in August 1999, the British Roller Sports Federation is a not-for-profit organisation, our legal status is that of a company limited by guarantee. Our primary objective is to preserve and promote the sport and recreation of Roller Sports in all of its forms in the United Kingdom.
The British Roller Sports Federation is a democratic membership organisation recognised by World Skate, the British Olympic Association and Sport England as the National Governing Body of Roller Sports in all of its forms.
The principal functions of the British Roller Sports Federation are to provide support and membership to all disciplines of Roller Sports, individual skaters, clubs and educational establishments and to provide structure and guidelines to ensure that Roller Sports in all of its forms are being practiced in a safe and fun environment and for everyone to enjoy.
The British Roller Sports Federation other key roles are to support and improve performance to enable Roller Sport athletes from the United Kingdom to remain internationally competitive; to raise money; inform and educate; and allocate funds, as well as provide greater accessibility to Roller Sports in all of its forms. The British Roller Sports Federation is committed to supporting the Roller Sports in all of its forms to grow in the United Kingdom. To achieve our aims we will engage and work with all disciplines of Roller Sports and others involved in the sport.

To achieve our aims, the British Roller Sports Federation will focus on key tasks:
Participation
Increase participation in all
age groups with a strong focus on young people. The British Roller
Sports Federation also aims to increase knowledge, awareness and
access to Roller Sports in all of its forms in educational
establishments throughout the United Kingdom.
Support
The British Roller Sports
Federation aims to support Roller Sports associations, clubs and
individuals by offering resources and information, enabling them to
effectively recruit and retain volunteers and/or members (of all
ages); as well as establishing long term development plans for
their discipline.
Venues
The British Roller Sports
Federation will work throughout the United Kingdom to develop
Roller Sports in all of its forms and support the provision of
consistent facilities required to enable safe and effective
delivery of Roller Sports in all of its forms for associations,
clubs, skate schools, educational establishments for all ages,
primary school to university, coaches and/or
individuals.
Coaching
and qualifications
The British Roller Sports
Federation is responsible for the development of a Coaching
Framework and will establish a nationally recognised qualification
pathway in coaching. Judging Awards for Roller Sports in all of its
forms and will follow World Skate guidelines.
Social
Inclusion
The British Roller Sports
Federation will help deliver and support projects which aim to
increase all forms of Roller Sport opportunities for individuals
from disadvantaged or minority groups. We will also aim to provide
the opportunities and environment for these individuals to develop
life skills, such as leadership and team work skills.
Events
The British Roller Sports
Federation will strive to deliver, organise and support a programme
of competitions (working with existing discipline competitions for
all levels of the sport) and qualifying events at local, regional
and national level and will assist the member disciplines with the
selection, training and administration of international teams if
and when appropriate.
Promotion
The British Roller Sports
Federation will publicise and promote Roller Sports in all of its
forms to the membership and general public in order to support and
facilitate the growth of Roller Sports in all of its forms across
the United Kingdom.
Performance
The British Roller Sports
Federation promote competition formatting and officiating in line
with the World Skate regulations, promoting international standards
and allowing competitors to prepare for international competition.
The British Roller Sports Federation also aims to develop elite
athletes with the ability to succeed at the highest international
performance level.
Management
The British Roller Sports
Federation will provide structure, governance and management to
Roller Sports in all of its forms across the United Kingdom whilst
at the same time developing and maintaining a wide ranging
membership of Roller Sports in all of its forms across the United
Kingdom participants.
Representation
The British Roller Sports
Federation will represent and promote the interests of the United
Kingdom within the United Kingdom and internationally.
